A Brazillian Money Maker - Dividends Too!!

Companhia Vale do Rio Doce (CVRD) is engaged in mining, non-ferrous metal production and logistics, as well as energy, aluminum and steel activities. Its principal lines of business consist of mining and logistics. The Company holds exploration claims that cover 8.7 million hectares (21.5 million acres) in Brazil, and 19.8 million hectares (48.9 million acres) in Angola, Argentina, Australia, Chile, Gabon, Guinea, Mongolia, Mozambique, Peru and South Africa. It operates logistics systems, including railroads and ports that are integrated with its mining operations. Directly and through affiliates and joint ventures, CVRD has investments in the aluminum-related, energy and steel businesses. It is also investing in copper, nickel and coal exploration. In October 2006, the Company acquired a 75.66% interest in Inco Limited. In January 2007, CRVD sold all its shares in Siderar-S.A.I.C.
